I've Spent My Entire Life in Water. This Site is Why.
WaterCheckup wasn't built by a tech company scraping EPA data. It was built by someone who has spent over 30 years testing water, designing treatment systems, and helping families understand what's actually coming out of their taps.
It Started When I Was 10 Years Old
I didn't choose water — water chose me. Growing up, my parents ran Durastill Export, Inc., a water purification company that sold water treatment systems to over 100 countries worldwide. While other kids were doing book reports, I was doing show-and-tell projects about water quality in grade school and presenting full water education projects to my class in middle school.
Water wasn't just a topic in our house — it was our life.
I eventually became Vice President of Sales and Marketing, helping bring clean water solutions to homes and businesses across the globe. Later I founded my own company, The WaterPro, Inc., serving homeowners and businesses throughout New England.
Over more than 30 years in the field I've done it all — testing water, analyzing results, designing custom treatment systems, installing them, and servicing them. I've worked on both city and well water and have successfully treated water with a host of contaminants, including: bacteria, chlorine, trihalomethanes, PFAS, arsenic, iron and manganese, TDS, hardness, low pH, VOCs, and more. I held WQA (Water Quality Association) credentials as a former Certified Water Treatment Specialist at the highest level — Level VI — as well as Certified Installer credentials.
Industry Recognition
Throughout my career I've shared my water expertise beyond the treatment room. I've published articles in leading water industry trade journals including Water Technology Magazine and Water Conditioning & Purification Magazine — two of the most respected publications in the water treatment field.
I've also lectured at Water Quality Association conventions and spoken to thousands of water professionals and consumers throughout my career — always with the same goal: helping people understand their water and what to do about it.
WaterCheckup is the next chapter of that same mission — now available to anyone, anywhere, for free.
Why I Built WaterCheckup
I built WaterCheckup because I felt the need to educate the average consumer on knowing exactly what's in their water and what to do about it. Taking my years of expertise in the field and recommending certified water filtration systems to remove various contaminants. You deserve straight answers — not confusing EPA spreadsheets, not generic advice, not a faceless algorithm. Real expertise, applied to your water.
